January 2016

Long time, no see. January was spent among textbooks and notes. Revision took over my life and I had no time for anything else. I’ve done three exams but I still have two more to do and 10 days before being completely free but I’m gonna try and be more present on the blog; not only on mine but in everyone else’s as well. I miss it.

Anyways, my reading suffered in January and I got to 4 books, and another 2 were DNFs. One of my resolutions for this year is to stop reading a book if I’m not getting anything out of it. My bookshelves are filled with so many unread books and I don’t have the time to waste in “bad books”. I know, I know…. The “what if it gets better” question will always be there but let’s be real, if you’re halfway through a book and there is nothing there for you to enjoy, chances are the book is not gonna get any better. And it’s time to accept it and move on. Or at least, that’s what I’m trying to do.

I cannot wait for exams to be over so I can have all the free time in the world. How did January treat you?

Reading Diary | February Books | 2018

Feb, 1st - 15:15. Finished the second book in the first volume of the Riyria Revelations and I was pleasantly surprised. I still think the world building is the weakest thing about the story because it's not greatly developed but the story is well-written and entertaining. I'm planning on continuing reading the series because now I'm intrigued enough to want to know how everything will unfold. Feb, 7th - 10:33.  I'm finally prepared to go and see the movie Call Me By Your Name because I just finished reading the novel. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It is a celebration of love and an exploration of sex and identity. It's quite explicit though so if you feel uncomfortable with that keep it in mind if you're planning on reading it. My full review of the book is HERE (I also talk a little bit about the movie).
